What does it mean to live with Endemic Covid-19 in Singapore?

8月 11, 2021

Endemic Covid-19-1

It has been close to 2 years ever since Singapore reported its first COVID case on 23 January 2020. Many say that this pandemic will go on for a few more years, while some authorities foresee that Covid-19 are likely to become endemic here. What are your thoughts?

The hard truth is that Covid-19 may never go away, and we have to learn to live with the new normal. This is because the virus will continue to mutate and exist to live in our community – like the influenza disease. Therefore, we should continue to take the current precautions seriously. These are some measures we should take to contribute in helping Singapore curb the spread of virus.

Endemic Covid-19 Mask

1) Wear your mask properly when you are outside.
Wearing a mask may be uncomfortable, but necessary. Health experts confirmed that masks do help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Thus, the more people wearing masks, the better it is!

Afraid to get pimples after wearing your mask for a long period of time? You can refer here to the different types of masks you can use to prevent a Maskne outbreak. Also, if you are looking for an Anti-Maskne Skin Trreatment, you may contact us @ +65 9088 8775 for more information.

Endemic Covid-19 Protect

2) Ensure Safe-Distancing measures.
Do you know that many confirmed Covid-19 cases in Singapore to date have been transmitted during social gatherings and activities? Now that we are back to Phase 2 in Singapore, a maximum of 2 people are allowed to roam around at all times. Always remember to maintain at least one metre distance away with anyone whenever possible. No dining in as usual!

Endemic Covid-19 Vaccine

3) Get vaccinated!
This should be your top most priority. You may ask “Why should I get vaccinated?” or “Is it safe to get the Covid-19 vaccine?” Getting Covid-19 vaccine can protect yourself and the people around you. This is because not everyone can be vaccinated – babies or individuals who have certain allergies are unable to do so. Moreover, it is FREE for all! You may read more about the side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine in our recent blog post.

How would the new normal be like in Singapore?

Currently, the Singapore Government has already rolled out antigen rapid tests including self-tests which makes testing quick and efficient. You can find them in polyclinics, pharmacies and the nearest drugstore like Watson, Guardian and Unity for affordable alternatives.

Moving forward, Singaporeans will need to get booster jabs every now and then. Improved and better treatments will also be developed in the coming months. To minimise the risk of infection, Singapore may also work something out to help with the ventilation systems and buildings.

Continue to practise good personal hygiene and we will less likely to be infected. Do reach out if you need help and let’s play our part in keeping Singapore safe!
