dark eye circles

dark eye circles / droopy eyelids

Dark circles around the eyes or even eye bags can arise due to factors like genes or insufficient sleep. Sometimes genes may render dark circles out of one’s control. Those suffering from eczema or allergic rhinitis may also get more prominent dark eye rings. It becomes more prominent as we age due to loss of skin elasticity and thinning of skin around the eyes. This is a common problem and is frequently described as “tired eyes”. Most will seek treatment as the dark circles around the eyes make them appear much older than their years. This condition affects both men and women equally.

Droopy eyelids (or ptosis) is when the upper eyelid droops downwards. Not only might they affect one’s vision as the eyelids cover part of the visual field, they also makes one look sleepy all the time.

There are many different possible causes of droopy eyelids, ranging from natural causes (genetics and age) to more serious conditions (damage to the eye).

Anyone can get droopy eyelids, be it gender or ethnicity.

At Healthsprings, we offer several non-surgical options to treat the delicate areas around your eyes and achieve younger-looking eyes — Great for those who are looking for effective and longer-lasting eye treatments without going under the knife at all.

Non-surgical Eye Lift Treatments

Laser Eye Treatments – Lasers like Revlite and Fotona stimulate collagen production and treat any superficial textural concerns (for instance, sun damage) on the lower and upper eyelids. This results in lifted and tighter eyelids, improved up fine lines and lighter dark eye circles.

Thermage Eyes–  In Thermage, radio frequency energy stimulates and strengthens collagen layers to tighten and lift the targetted area, as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes. This procedure produces long-lasting results. With the periodic touch-up sessions (once a year),  results can be maintained and even improved.

Ultherapy Eyes – Unlike Thermage, ultrasound energy from Ultherapy easily targets the delicate area around the eyes and heats the deeper levels of the skin so as to induce a superficial, yet deep collagen renewal. This treatment is especially useful to treat sagging skin.

All of the treatments mentioned above are FDA-approved and safe. For safety reasons, eye shields are always used to protect the retinas during the procedure.

Healthsprings Bright Eyes Treatment

One of the more popular treatment to treat conditions like sagging skin, eyebags, dark eye rings as well as improve blood circulation is our Exilis Elite eye treatment.

As compared to lasers/ Ultherapy/ Thermage treatments, this is a gentler treatment and may require multiple sessions for better results. Depending on your condition, our doctors will customize a treatment plan for you. There is virtually no downtime.

Make an appointment with our doctor to assess the extent of your skin aging around the eyes and find our which treatments are more suitable for you.
