Warts and Skin Tags may cause embarrassment for some sufferers due to their unsightly appearance.
Warts are commonly described a small, benign growth on the skin and seem harmless but they are caused by a virus and are highly contagious.
There are many different classes of warts, but the most common is a raised bump with a rough surface spanning 1-10mm in diameter. Warts can usually be found on the hands, feet, knees and face in clusters or on its own. They are also mostly itchy and uncomfortable.
On the other hand, skin tags look like small bits of “hanging” skin and commonly occur where clothing rubs against the skin or where there is skin-to-skin friction, such as the underarms, neck and upper chest. Skin tags are soft skin growths between 2 – 5mm in diameter. They appear typically on the eyelids, armpits, neck and body folds.
Unlike warts, skin tags are not contagious at all and are usually painless, however they will usually linger on your skin until treated.
