PCR Swab Test (or Saliva Testing) in Singapore for Travellers and Screening

1. Do I need to apply to get a PCR test done for traveling or for other reasons? Do I need a PCR swab test in Singapore to travel?

Since 1^st Dec 2020,  individuals requiring a Covid 19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for any reason, can get it done at approved providers without approval from Ministry of Health (MOH).

Most countries require a negative COVID 19 PCR test for travel. Details varies from country to country. It is best to check with the corresponding country’s Embassy website for further details.

2. What documents should I bring for the PCR test in Singapore Clinic?

Please have the following information on hand when making an appointment for your test:

• Identity card number and passport number
• Departure flight timing (if applicable)
• Address in Singapore
• Contact number
• Email address

Kindly be informed that if you did not bring the required documents on the appointment date, you will not be allowed to proceed with the swab test in clinics in Singapore. 

3. How far in advance should I make an appointment for the pre-departure swab test clinic in Singapore?

The PCR test needs to be completed within 48 hours to 72 hours before your departure time.

Due to limited slots, please make your appointment with the swab test clinic in Singapore as early as possible, once your approval and flight timing is confirmed. You are responsible for checking for your testing window that is in line with your destination country’s requirement.

4. Can I visit any Healthsprings clinic to do the pre-departure PCR test?

5. When can I expect to get my PCR swab test results?

You will receive your PCR test results and memo within 24 hours of your test, if you met the cut-off timing at the respective swab test clinic in Singapore. Please let the clinic know if you need to receive the memo by a certain time.

The clinic will email the results to your email address. You will need to print and bring the memo overseas yourself.
