Prolonged Coughing Post-COVID 19 Infection

[:en]Persistent cough and other long COVID symptoms affect many patients who have been infected by the virus. It is frustrating and can be embarrassing to cough in public.

There are a few things that we can try at home to reduce coughing, as listed below:

  1. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water
  2. Take over the counter cough medicine to suppress cough and sleep better at night
  3. Inhale steam to help loosen trapped mucus
  4. Have warm ginger tea with honey
  5. Suck on lozenges to lubricate throat
  6. Drink turmeric lattes to soothe the throat
  7. Elevate head and chest while sleeping. It prevents mucus from obstructing airway
  8. Practising diaphragmatic breathing to facilitate mucus clearance
