Is there other ways to fight COVID 19 infection apart from vaccination? Currently, Paxlovid and Molnupiravir are the 2 antiviral agents available in Singapore for COVID 19 treatment.
Paxlovid is a combination of Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir and it’s the first oral for the treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 disease who are at high risk of progressing to severe disease.
Molnupiravir by Merck, branded as Lagevrio is another oral antiviral available in the market.
Paxlovid is the first line OAV treatment and Molnupiravir may be considered if there are contraindications to Paxlovid. Patient must fulfil base eligibility criteria before treatment being considered and must have 1 or more of the following risk factors for severe COVID 19 infections.
