The Ministry of Health (MOH) has activated the Haze Subsidy Scheme (HSS) from 12 October 2026, helping eligible Singaporeans access affordable medical care for haze-related health conditions.
As a participating Public Health Preparedness Clinic (PHPC), Healthsprings supports this initiative by providing subsidised treatment for eligible patients with haze-related conditions.
Under the scheme, eligible patients pay $0, $5 or $10 for their haze-related consultation, medication and necessary investigations, depending on their eligibility.
The Haze Subsidy Scheme is available to Singapore Citizens who meet at least one of the following criteria:
Singapore Permanent Residents and foreigners are not eligible for the scheme.
Eligible Singaporeans pay a fixed amount for the haze-related portion of their medical visit.
| Patient Category | Amount Payable |
|---|---|
| Public Assistance (PA) cardholders | $0 |
| Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation cardholders | $5 |
| CHAS Blue or Orange cardholders, MFEC holders | $10 |
| Singapore Citizens aged 18 and below or 65 and above | $10 |
The subsidised amount covers the consultation, medications and medically necessary investigations related to the eligible haze-related condition.
No additional GST is charged on the HSS patient co-payment.
Additional charges may apply for unrelated medical conditions, medications or services not covered under the scheme.
The Haze Subsidy Scheme covers six medical conditions that may be associated with haze exposure:
Your doctor will assess whether your condition is haze-related and eligible for subsidy under HSS.
Haze may irritate the eyes and respiratory system, particularly in people with existing respiratory conditions.
If you experience persistent coughing, wheezing, breathing discomfort or eye irritation during periods of poor air quality, consider consulting a doctor for an assessment.
Healthsprings Medical provides GP consultations and assessment of haze-related health concerns.
