Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certification in Singapore
Planning ahead is an important part of protecting your health, your wishes, and your family.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint someone you trust to make medical, personal, and financial decisions on your behalf if you lose mental capacity due to illness, injury, or age-related conditions.
At Healthsprings, our doctors provide LPA certification services to help you complete this process conveniently and confidently.
What Is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)?
A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you (the Donor) to appoint one or more persons (Donees) to act for you if you become mentally incapacitated.
Your Donee may make decisions about:
Medical treatment and healthcare
Care arrangements and daily welfare
Living arrangements
Property and financial matters
Having an LPA ensures that decisions can be made promptly without legal delays during emergencies.
Who Should Consider Setting Up LPA?
Adults aged 21 and above
Anyone who is legally an adult and wishes to plan ahead for future healthcare and personal decisions.
Individuals who are mentally capable of making their own decisions
An LPA must be arranged while you are clear-minded and able to understand your choices.
Those planning for future medical or caregiving needs
Especially helpful for individuals with chronic conditions, ageing parents, or anyone who prefers their loved ones to manage care smoothly during emergencies.
