  3. Fish such as mackerel, sardines, salmon are one of the best sources of omega-3, which are protective against inflammation and infection. Aim for a serving of fish once or twice a week. For vegetarians, alternative sources of omega-3 are flaxseed and chia seed.
  4. Fermented foods like yoghurt, kimchi, miso, and cheese, are full of good probiotic bacteria. These healthy bacteria normally live in our intestines and communicate with our gut cells, helping our immune system to protect us from invading pathogens.
  5. Turmeric, ginger, and garlic are full of flavonoids and anti-inflammatory compounds. You can also consume turmeric and ginger teas with honey.
