Here’s the good news – from 7 December 2021 onwards, travelers can opt for saliva testing as an alternative option for COVID-19 pre-departure tests.
However, only certain countries accept saliva-based pre-departure tests, for instance; United states, Canada, Australia and Japan. Travelers have to double check and clarify on travel advisories to see whether their travel destinations are eligible for such tests.
It is also reported that as compared to taking nasal and oral swab test, many prefer taking Saliva testing as their preferred testing mode because it is less uncomfortable and non-invasive.
